Frequently asked insurance questions include:

Do I need a prescription for physical therapy?

If your insurance participates with the Direct Access Law, you can come for up to 14 days without seeing your primary care physician first. The therapist must be direct access certified in order to see patients under this new law. Both therapists at Body Elite are direct access certified.  If your insurance does not participate, you will need to see your doctor first.

Who can refer me to physical therapy?

Your primary care physician, a specialist such as orthopedic, podiatrist, etc., or a chiropractor can refer you with most insurances.

Do you file claims with my insurance company?

As a courtesy to our patients, we file your claims electronically to your insurance company. We will even file with secondary policies.

Does my insurance cover physical therapy?

We call your insurance company and verify your benefits for physical therapy before or at your first scheduled appointment. Some policies cover a percentage, and some require a copay per visit. You can find out yourself by contacting your insurance company by calling the customer service number listed on your insurance card or by logging on to their websites. We have links to all the insurance companies we are contracted with located under the insurance plans tab.

How much will it cost if I do not have insurance?

If you must pay for services out of pocket, the rates are $90 per hour or $45 per half hour. The cost per session will depend on what we do and how much time we spend each visit. We can work out a payment plan that works for you.
